The new over-ear Beats Spin headphones combine sophisticated construction and advanced sonic technologies to deliver the power, extra durability and sound isolation that until now has been lacking in professional headphones. Beats Spin headphones are tailored for use by working DJs, producers, engineers and musicians, both in the studio and onstage.
Dr. Dre noted: “Our first headphones delivered what we wanted: to hear the music the right way, the way I do. Now we are introducing headphones that let you use them the way I do. We created headphones that are specifically designed for the people on the front lines: engineers, producers, djs…I basically wake up with headphones on….trust me, these are the s**t.”
Noel Lee, the Head Monster, noted: “To create Beats Spin, Monster and the Beats by Dr. Dre team conducted in-depth research with many of the industry’s top professional recording artists, engineers and DJs to find out just what they wanted in a great headphone. One of the things we heard most from them is that they need a super-durable headphone that could be counted on for repeated use. In addition to making this and other specific professional concerns a top priority, our engineers worked hard to develop a headphone with impeccable sonic performance that would be ideal for everyday use by anybody who is truly serious about their music listening. The result is a first-of-its-kind high-performance headphone with a host of extremely useful innovations that will literally change the way pros think about their headphones and how they use them in their work and their leisure time.”
Beats Spin new and innovative features and capabilities include:
Unprecedented Durability: To create a headphone capable of standing up to the rigors of rough and repeated professional use, every aspect of Beats Spin headphones was designed for rock-solid durability. Most importantly, all components of the all-important headphone hinge are made of metal, unlike the plastic components used by other pro headphones.
Sound Isolation: To recreate the quietness of an isolated recording studio listening experience, Beats Spin headphones feature a variety of ambient noise-isolation capabilities, allowing consumers to hear the music clearly, even in the noisiest environments.
On-the-Fly Mixing and Sharing with Monster Patented Input/Output Jacks: For musicians or engineers working in the studio, as well as DJs spinning in a club, the art of creation involves a great deal of on-the-fly improvisation. That’s why both Beats Spin earpieces feature specially designed Monster patented jacks that can serve as both inputs or outputs. This unique configuration frees users to quickly and easily send and accept signals from a soundboard or share their creative mixes with fellow artists.
“No More Tangle” Cord Management, Plus ControlTalk™: Beats Spin solve the problem of tangled cable with several key modifications. First, they feature a long 6-foot cord, and unlike many professional headphone models, which utilize 9- or 12-inch coiled sections, the coiled section of the Beats Spin cable is just 3” long (expandable to 1-foot). This allows users just the right amount of coil for long reaches, but avoids the high tangle properties of longer coil cables. Beats Spin also offer a second cord option for added flexibility in everyday use as well – Monster’s super-convenient ControlTalkheadphone cable*. ControlTalk can be used with iPhone™ and iPod for music playback control as well as to take hands-free calls with iPhone and many smartphones. The cable’s integrated high-grade microphone and answer button lets users access their music and answer phone calls without having to reach into their pocketbook, backpack or pocket.
Ear Cups That Swivel and Can Be Removed for Cleaning. Both ear cups swivel back easily for greater artistic freedom and flexibility and can be easily removed for washing. This same swivel mechanism also plays a role in helping make Beats Spin headphones super compact when folded away for storage.
Dr. Dre’s headphone company, Beats have teamed up with computer giants HP to create the worlds first Laptop designed especially for DJs. The not so catchy named Envy 15 Beats Edition not only looks the part, with a gloss black finish and Apple-esque light-up logo on the back, but also has a lot of power. On the inside, there is a Intel Core i7 chipset, Mobility Radeon HD 4830 graphics card and up to a 16GB RAM. Of course it wouldn’t be music-led limited edition without Traktor LE DJ software for live DJing and a pair of Beats over ear headphones. It will be launched on October 22nd so as expected; it will feature Windows 7 and will cost roughly $2,999, meaning that the Beats 15 costs about $500 more the original Envy 15.
Here you can see the light up logo on the back
Personally, if I had the money I would definitely buy this laptop. If its anything like most other HP laptops, it is going to be amazing. Although it does look a lot like a MacBook copy with the red, light up Beats logo on the bag, the free headphones and DJ software certainly make up for it.
Once I got my hands on it, I just had to do a review on this iPhone app. The iPhone app was developed by Australian developer Fire mint. The basics of this game is you need to guide each aircraft to the appropriate colored runway for a smooth landing and you get a point. You guide the airplanes by touching the aircraft icon and dragging a visible path onscreen. There are 4 levels that you can play on which include, Classic Airfield, Royal Flying Doctor Service, Hawaiian Style and an Airfield in the middle of the ocean. This is a very addictive game, and I highly recommend you get this app. It’s only $.99 in the app store.

Thanks to Samsung, check. The new ST1000 features Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and they even found room for 12.2MP. Well it all seems very flash, but why? Because they can presumably, but believe it or not these fancy extras actually have a purpose. Using the Wi-Fi, you can e-mail your pictures to friends around the world or upload them directly to sites such as Facebook and Picasa for anyone to see! Last seen on the Kodak V610 back in 2006, the Bluetooth allows you to send photos to your phone in a flash (Get it?) without the need for a computer or card reader. And last but not least, the GPS. Like I was at first, you’re probably wondering what good GPS on a digital camera. Well it means you can geotag your photos so you remember when and where they were taken and once you use the GPS to find your way home, you can plot them on Google Maps.
As far as digital cameras go, this has got to be the geekiest. Up there with the Nikon S1000pj and the Fujifilm Finepix REAL 3D W1, this is bound to be a best-seller!
Hello, this is my first blog post on SubJuiced so I hope you enjoy!
Big news coming from Spotify this month as both a Symbian Series 60 client and an offline mode for PC have been confirmed for release. The S60 client will be available to Nokia and Samsung users with S60 software but Spotify aren’t giving anything away yet as both the price and release date have yet to be confirmed. The PC offline mode should be free and just an update for the original but again, there are no clues as to when its being released!
When I first heard about the S60 client I wasn’t really suprised as both Android and Apple devices already have it but I was still super excited as I recently upgraded to the Nokia E71, which is a compatible phone and I have unlimited internet on it so I won’t have to worry about exceeding downloads. The same goes for the offline PC mode because unlike a lot of people probably reading this, I am a self-confessed PC fan and on-top of that, my Laptop has a habit of not connecting to my router so I’m looking forward to it!
iFrogz is known for their cases, but what else they should be known for is their headphones. They have many different styles in the EarPollution line, and some of them you can customize the look of. The DJ style is their higher end headphones, although they only cost $50.
The Hustle is the style that I got to review, and I must say that they look very good. The side of the headphone has a cool silver plastic with a radioactive sign in the middle. The inside of the ear cup has a pretty cool design with the radioactive sign and more in it. The ear cup does not have much padding, and is not that comfortable when worn for a long period of time. The headband has no padding which is kind of a disappointment.
Sound quality is obviously the most important part of any pair of headphones, and these are pretty good. The mids and highs are perfects, but the bass can lack sometimes. While I was using the EarPollution’s the bass was good for the most part, although in some songs it seemed as though the bass had weakened. One thing that I think is a big deal in a pair of headphones is if they leak, and these are the king of leaking. Because the ear cup is a circle shape, most of the cup is not covering your ear, and lets about all of your music leak out, and you can hear everything when some one is listening with these headphones.
I think these headphones are pretty good, and are definitely are big step up from the Apple ear buds, but I don’t think that they are worth $50. I think that $30 would be a very fair amount. If they were to lower the price a little, then these would be totally worth it, but at $50 I think that you can get better ear buds for the same price.
The Wacom Intuos4 is a graphics tablet that allows you to control the mouse on your computer by putting the pen on the tablet. What makes this really useful is using it in design applications. By using a pen instead of a mouse, it really lets you draw more naturally.
The Intuos4 has 8 programmable buttons with an OLED display next to each row of buttons. It also has a Touch Ring that is very much like an iPod touch ring. On the side of the tablet it has 2 mini usb ports. The reason for 2 is because this tablet is ambidextrous. The fact that there is 2 usb ports really shows that Wacom was thinking about the little details.
The pen is really nicely design, and feels really good when your holding it. The is a rubbery grip where your hand goes, and is also 2 programmable buttons right at the reach of your thumb. On the end of the pen there is an eraser that automatically switches to the eraser tool, if there is one. If there isn’t an eraser in the application that your using, it just acts the same as the tip on the pen. The pen holder that it comes with is much cooler than just a pen holder. Inside of it holds of the nibs for your pen. There are 6 black nibs, that feel like your using a pen, 3 white nibs that feel like your drawing with a pencil. There is also a spring loaded nib, and a black with white tip nib.
The tablet also comes with a pretty nice mouse. This mouse only work on the tablet, and doesn’t have any sensor of the bottom. The mouse has the obvious left and right buttons, along with a scroll wheel and 2 programmable buttons. In the preferences for the tablet you can change everything about the mouse. You can change the speed of the tracking, along with every single button.
The 8 express keys, and 4 different settings for the touch ring can be customized for each application, and when you switch to a certain application, all the buttons will change to what you set them to do in that application. The tablet is very easy to configure by going into system preferences and installing the Wacom Tablet pane.
The Intuos4 also comes with a couple of applications; Adobe Photoshop Elements, Autodesk SketchBook Express and Corel Painter. When you plug in the tablet a system preference pane is automatically activated by Mac OS X, this pane is called Ink. This lets you write on the tablet, and the computer will automatically make your writing into text. Ink also lets you specify how spaced out your handwriting is so it will recognize it better.
The final verdict on the Intuos4 is that it is absolutely amazing. The express keys and touch ring offer so much that they will drastically improve your work flow, and make accessing things much easier. The tablet part of the Intuos4 is incredibly accurate and offers 2,500 levels of pressure sensitivity and really is better than you think it would be. If you use design or video applications a lot, then this is a must buy. It really is the best tablet on the market, and is definitely worth checking out. If you want to but the Intuos4, click here.
